Al principio empez\u00f3 con la producci\u00f3n de lechugas y luego pas\u00f3 a las cebollas. Desde entonces, no ha parado. En la actualidad, Soto sigue produciendo lechugas y repollos, pero las cebollas se han convertido en el principal cultivo de su propiedad, situada en sector Noviciado, en la ciudad de Santiago de Chile.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3005 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.sakata.com.br\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/01\/Cultivo-de-Great-Western-2-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.sakata.com.br\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/01\/Cultivo-de-Great-Western-2-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/blog.sakata.com.br\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/01\/Cultivo-de-Great-Western-2-768x1023.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.sakata.com.br\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/01\/Cultivo-de-Great-Western-2-1153x1536.jpg 1153w, https:\/\/blog.sakata.com.br\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/01\/Cultivo-de-Great-Western-2.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/>Seg\u00fan el productor, la superficie sembrada con cebollas ocupa entre 15 y 20 hect\u00e1reas, con foco principal en los segmentos Tard\u00edo e Intermedio, siendo este \u00faltimo el predominante.<\/p>\n<p>En el segmento D\u00eda Intermedio, la variedad de cebolla Great Western de Sakata es la principal protagonista y viene mostrando excelentes resultados a lo largo de sus tres a\u00f1os de cultivo. \u201cEmpec\u00e9 con un 10% y hoy el 40% del volumen total de producci\u00f3n corresponde a Great Western. Para el a\u00f1o que viene voy a analizar cuestiones de mercado, pero mi intenci\u00f3n es seguir con la misma producci\u00f3n\u201d, afirma Soto.<\/p>\n<p>Entre los principales diferenciales de Great Western, el productor destaca que el h\u00edbrido \u201ctiene una rama muy firme, algo poco com\u00fan y una caracter\u00edstica muy buena para la comercializaci\u00f3n en rama.
